I was born in Sydney 25 years ago. After that, I went to a lot of schools. I escaped from James Ruse Agri­cul­tural High School and stud­ied Economics/Law at the Uni­ver­sity of Sydney. After gradu­ation I moved to Can­berra to join the Aus­tralian Pub­lic Ser­vice where I work in inter­na­tional law and human rights policy.

When I’m not on the books — which hap­pens pretty often — I like to read, run, go around to take pho­tos and do some web/graphic designing.

I also like to draw — not a par­tic­u­larly good artist though — watch movies and, some­times, I need to write to free my mind and tidy up my thoughts.

    hey daniel
    i’m cur­rently in year 11 and just down­loaded your notes which you have pos­ted on the hsc notes page. The notes look excel­lent and i must thank you for try­ing to help people but i had 2 ques­tions on my mind; did you use these notes also? and what was your UAI?
    sorry if it sounds like im sorta get­ting into your life here a bit but i would like to know so i could bet­ter judge the qual­ity of your notes though i know that it will come down to what i do.

    james ruse is the best and bright­est and without a doubt we are gonna cane EVERYONE in the state guar­an­teed ! WE are gonna top both ext 1 & 2 maths this year + chem for sure so all you losers out there should just give up cause you aint gonna a beat us, no way in the world even if you did all the papers on this site ! Do yourselves a favour and just give up you’ll feel bet­ter about your­self that way any­way btw no need to thank me for this won­der­ful advice but it’s just in case you dum­basses have not figured this out yet !

    here’s some advice don’t even bother study­ing
    cause it’s way too late, only idi­ots, fools and abso­lute dum­basses leave it to this late, look if your not gonna bother try­ing in the first place then just get out!
    you should be happy with the mys­tery atar they hand out to any total loser who man­ages to pull and ATAR of under 36 out of the hat so to speak

    To the James Ruse Students,

    It’s funny because I go to Sydney Uni­ver­sity and have man­aged to meet many won­der­ful aca­demic stu­dents, all of which are beat­ing select­ive school shits like you guys who are so arrog­ant you think your life suc­cess depends on an ATAR. With an atti­tude like that I highly doubt any employer will ever pro­mote you. Go die. Every­one knows looks+personality+ con­tacts and a decent amount of know­ledge (one that isn’t par­rot learnt like those at James Ruse) will make you suceed in life. Can’t wait to see you in the real world :)

    To every­one who seems to be diss­ing each other, stop it. Name-calling and nasty lan­guage gets you no where. This is so child­ish and ignor­ant of you. For one, no one is super­ior to another and intel­li­gence is not a means to test that. Two, any­one from any school can do well, not just James Ruse pupils. Three, shame on you people who are telling oth­ers that they have no hope left and that they should stop try­ing. Shame on you. The HSC is not the only obstacle in your life nor will it be your last.
    Biz, I know that it doesn’t sound too good that you didn’t do well in your tri­als but keep in mind you still have the HSC to do well in, if you put the work in. Hard work pays off. If you don’t end up with the res­ult you like, it is okay. It doesn’t test the per­son that you are or will be. You have the rest of your life and time to change courses and do what you want to do. Don’t give up.

    I wish every­one good luck in the HSC. I hope you get the res­ults you aspire :)

    to every­one else on this site, good luck and to the per­son who pos­ted up such a stu­pid mes­sage (ruse guy-99.95 in the bag), are you sure you really go to ruse? I’d be ashamed if you did. just cos oth­ers don’t go to ruse doesn’t mean that they’re stu­pid. no need for you to get up yourself.

    and to pre­vi­ous high ATAR achiever — please don’t judge us as par­rots or lump as all in the same cat­egory as that per­son. this guy has a pretty nasty atti­tude but I’d be pretty cut if you don’t give the rest of us a chance.

    Look guys, i came into St george girl’s select­ive in yr eleven and u know wat…im the only one who isnt going to buckle under the pressure…u James ruse kid need 2 chill out and deflate ur head…i know alot of kids in com­pre­hens­ive schools alot smarter than pathetic excuses for human being’s such as u. They have bet­ter atti­tudes and dont give a crap about what school they go to, they could suc­ceed any­where they wanted to. And u know what?… Com­pre­hens­ive schools kicked ur butt in the 2010 hsc…i didnt c james ruse col­lect all the first place awards did they? Look, i was here look­ing for extra papers to try and i thank kewpid for that, im not tutored so i dont have ‘par­rot know­ledge’ unlike you…anyone who thinks they are going to get ANYWHERE in life with a drop kick atti­tude, par­rot brains and a so swollen it could resemble an aggre­v­ated pimple should rethink the path they’re try­ing to forge in life.
