Sydney's cost of living
After the Media Law final on Wednesday, got another stark jolt of the reality of living in Sydney. After plumping for 1 or 2 coffees a day, 5 days a week for the past semester (at $2.40 a pop, which frankly is among the cheapest brown stuff in the city), not to mention lunch, you’d think the inexorable drain on funds (on just food!) would have taught me a lesson. But that was money being spent gradually buy Lezione 21
. Wednesday’s wallet-gouger was some toasted sandwich number (which I’m confident I could have prepared myself in less time than we had to wait at Lindt) and an un-Godly high-calorie caffeine/ice-cream deathwish. $17.50. We’re crazy! (Although in the interests of disclosure, it was complimentary. Thanks Enoch!)
It’s easy to forget, being still safely sequestered away in the family home that most people have the shadowy borg of rent/mortgage hanging over their heads every week. It’s not a particularly strong incentive to move out of the nest, which is sad on so many levels. This is not helped by the recent opening of the Temple of ConsumerismSydney Apple Store. This the point where I drift off into fantasyland and start praising Melbourne to the Heavens, ignoring the fact that it ain’t much better down there. But at least it’s more cultured download Shogun The Game download
. Yes. That’s a fair trade-off.
