Firefox Mac preferences annoyance

It’s a bit annoying that to access the preferences panel in Firefox I have to press Command + , twice. This only happens initially; all subsequent preferences-accessing works normally. It’s repeatable on PowerPC and Universal Binary versions, and has been there as long as I’ve used it. This is only an issue because to use it an Uni I have to enter some proxy whizbangthingamyinfo, whereas at home I have to set it to the “direct connection” setting. I’ve searched for it and no-one else seems to have this bug. Hopefully this gets Google-cached so that someone out there can tell me I’m not alone on this.
