Howard v Costello: Fight!

If Peter Costello had the guts to challenge, which he doesn’t, this is how the Federal Parliamentary Liberals would vote:

Howard Camp Costello Camp
  1. Howard, The Hon John, Member for Bennelong
  2. Abbott, The Hon Tony, Member for Warringah
  3. Downer, The Hon Alexander, Member for Mayo

  10. Slipper, The Hon Peter, Member for Fisher
  11. Southcott, Dr Andrew, Member for Boothby
  • Definite Supporter
  • Likely Supporter

These are the only MPs who have publicly commented on the leadership imbroglio now or in the past (as far as I’m aware). I may try and work out who would vote for who based on their factional allignments in the Liberal party if I’m able to dig such information up. However on the surface it looks like Costello has only around 10 core supporters with perhaps another 10 peripheral supporters making a bloc of about 20 MPs. On July 1, the Liberals will command a presence of 111 in the Federal Parliament (75 HoR, 36 Senate). 20 is not enough to win obviously, but then that may be part of any challenge strategy.Kinsey dvdrip
